NIHON SUPERIOR receives IPC APEX Innovation Award for new TipSave N flux-cored solder wire

IPC APEX Innovation Award winning product ” TipSave N “

NIHON SUPERIOR Co. Ltd. was awarded a IPC APEX 2020 Innovation Award for its new TipSave N flux-cored solder wire. The award was presented to the company during a Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020 ceremony that took place at the San Diego Convention Center during the IPC APEX EXPO.

In receiving the award, NIHON SUPERIOR’s President Tetsuro Nishimura stated: “I’m very pleased that our groundbreaking invention has been recognized with such a prestigious award. The important point is that TipSave N reduces replacement costs while not sacrificing the soldering workability which users greatly appreciate.”

When a solder joint is made with a soldering iron, the tin reacts with the iron plating on the tip, gradually eroding it. Eventually the underlaying copper is exposed resulting in damage to the tip. TipSave N slows this erosion, extending the tip life by 3X and reducing the replacement cost of soldering tips. Paired with the (032) no-clean, halogen-free cored-flux, it provides fast wetting and low spattering. TipSave N is a good match for hand soldering as well as continuous robotic soldering as it reduces required soldering tip change overs, increasing production while reducing cost.
