野北和宏教授荣获“2021 TMS AWARD”奖
RESEARCH TO INDUSTRIAL PRACTICE AWARD
TMS (The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society) 是支援“矿物、金属和材料”领域研究发布的专业团体。
其主要活动包括发表论文、出版专业期刊、举办研究人员及工程师主导的网络活动等，通过TMS发布的最先进研究报告已受到全世界的关注。
TMS于3月17日在网上举办了授予优秀研究人员“TMS AWARD”的颁奖仪式，野北和宏教授（昆士兰大学材料工程学）荣获“RESEARCH TO INDUSTRIAL PRACTICE AWARD”奖，下面对此进行介绍。
获奖的原因在于“For establishing the multiple effects of Ni in Pb-free solder alloys, opening the way for a new generation of high-reliability, thermodynamically stable interconnects.”，即关于添加Ni给无铅焊锡带来多种效果的研究受到了好评。
说到添加了Ni的无铅焊锡的典型代表，那就是「SN100C」「SN100CV」。这些合金的高可靠性机制通过这些研究得以阐明。
此次获奖，无论是对于与野北教授联合进行无铅焊锡研究的昆士兰大学内研究中心“Nihon Superior Center for the Manufacture of Electronic Materials”，还是对于支持该活动的本公司来说，无疑是非常令人开心的消息。

I am humbled to be receiving this award. I must acknowledge all of those who have contributed to the work of our Centre over recent years for Pb-free solder and electronic packaging research. Having such great industry support as well as being part of the TMS excellent researchers has made my research possible and this community and the TMS annual meeting continues to be a highlight of my year.
